Contrary to my normal nature, I haven't written here about something that normally I'd probably spend lots of entries on, and that thing is the car situation. I was afraid of jinxing whatever was going to happen, so I kept mum through all of it--conversations about which cars I could afford, test drives (oh, that horrible Mazda dealership), and final decisions--but now I'm going to come out and say it.
The BMW is no more. Or, at least, it is no longer mine. Yesterday I traded it in for a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. It was a little sad. Okay, it was very sad. I loved that car, and nothing's like a BMW. But I like my new little car, and I like even more the idea that I'm helping to negate my footprint on the planet by driving a car that will be healthier for the environment. Forget fuel savings--although I'll save a bundle just by NOT having to put premium in my car--I'm happy to be reducing the cost of my commute.
That's all I really have to say about it right now, but suffice it to say that I'm very, very happy with the car and the decision I made to get rid of the old one.
