I like Joe Biden. Kind of a lot, actually.
You know who I don't like? Sarah Palin. Actually, I sort of just don't understand her as a choice for VP. I mean, yeah, she's got a vagina, and yeah, she pushed babies out of it, but that doesn't mean women will vote for her. Other people are saying this, but it's sort of....baffling that someone in McCain's campaign (McCain?) thinks that that'd be the case. What a gross underestimation of every woman everywhere.
It's just that she's not.....well, someone I could ever vote for. She's pretty much standing against everything I believe in, and beyond that, she's embroiled in what looks like a questionable situation in terms of her sister and the super trooper ex-brother-in-law. I don't care if the guy was a d-bag (and he sounds like it), but using your power as governor to punish the d-bag? Yeah, that's kind of reprehensible.
I don't know that much about her, but then...isn't that kind of the whole thing? No one does. I think it's a bad choice. I hope that history doesn't prove me wrong, but she just seems like a very, very risky pick.
All that said, I admire the fact that McCain is the kind of guy who doesn't give a shit and picked a VP that will make history if holy god in heaven please no please no please no gets elected with him. OH PLEASE GOD NO.
Update: I changed my mind. I don't admire John McCain for any reason at all. He's a d-bag who doesn't give a shit about anything, including this country. Oh, wait. I think he probably does give a shit about having massive piles of money around. But that's it. He picked a woman who has ethical issues and who is quite possibly an UNHINGED seventh day creationist. Nothing gets under my skin more than a person who believes that science is wrong and thinks that dinosaurs and men walked around together. And who thinks, Hey, wouldn't it be cool if men rode dinosaurs? THAT COULD HAPPEN, KIDS. The more I read about her, the more I hate her. Shit, this was the best he could do? This was the best woman Republican he could find? (Hint hint: she LOVES BIG OIL.) ARRRRRRRRRRGH. I hate this country sometimes.
Well put. I'm frankly confused by McCain's pick. He is 72 years old and could actually have something happen that puts her in charge, yet he argues that Obama's 20 years in public service haven't prepared him with the experience to be president.
