Good morning! Jet lag banished! Before the day gets going, here's our Friday morning music fix. Annotated, of course.
- So Much Work -- Pete Yorn. I don't know this song. Literally, I could not tell you the first thing about it without hearing it, and since I'm sitting in Sam's mom's living room, and not at my desk, I'm not listening.
- Lose Yourself -- Eminem. This isn't a bad song, per se. It's actually okay to listen to; I think it's on my iPod from the Q101 retrospective thingy that I made.
- All I've Got to Do -- The Beatles. This is a pleasant Beatles song. Not one of the craptastic ones.
- Where is Your Heart -- Kelly Clarkson. Also never ever listen to this song. I have the Kelly Clarkson CD mainly for the good singles. I really enjoy those. No bones about it.
- High Speed -- Coldplay. Oh, this song sucks. Not one of my favorites. This might well be the worst Friday Random Ten ever.
- What's My Age Again -- Blink-182. It is. It's the worse FRT ever. This song is also on here because of the Q101 thing, and I'll admit that if I'm listening to that mix, I don't have to skip this song. It's not that bad, is it? It's catchy. It's completely respectable.
- Not For You -- Pearl Jam. This isn't one of my favorite PJ songs, but it's okay. It's certainly not something I would skip, unless I really wasn't in the mood for PJ. I've just stuck my earbud in my ear, and I'm actually enjoying hearing on side of it.
- I'm Not Sleeping -- Counting Crows. This is a live version of the song from Live from the Ten Spot. It's okay, but I'm continually baffled by the fact that my iPod continually wants me to listen to Counting Crows. It's not like I have that much music by them on my iPod, but it's ALWAYS on. I'm so sick of the Counting Crows right now. Even my favorite songs.
- Only Love Can Break Your Heart -- Neil Young. This is a brilliant song. I can always listen to this.
- Empty -- The Cranberries. The Cranberries are one of those 90's bands that I can almost always still listen to, especially their first and second albums. I still think they made two FANTASTIC albums, and I do pull them out and listen to them straight through. But the Cranberries are also a band that still really brings me right back to the time. I think I must've worn out my first copy of Everyone else is Doing it So Why Can't We? from the frantic playing of it during high school and college. Seriously, why aren't more people listening to this band?
So yeah. Good morning! Have a nice day. I'm going to putter around CA.
I need those Cranberry albums. I think I will either ask for them for Christmas of go to the I-Tunes store. Have fun in CA!
