If you read my sister's blog, then you already know about our biennial road trip to Frankenmuth, and that it happened this past weekend. If you don't read it, I urge you to click on the link and find the post about it, which you can't miss, because there's a picture in it of my sister with Christmas on her head. (Her words.) And guess what? I now own Christmas! At least, I own the Christmas on her head. I bought that tree and can't wait until the day (after Thanksgiving) that I can proudly display that thing on my coffee table. I spent a LOT of money at Bronner's this year. I bought a whole huge bunch of ornaments, some of which are gifts, anyway. I also bought a lovely jingle-jangle bell candy cane that I'm going to try to attach to our front door. Somehow.
Katie's also not lying about the 33 donuts we bought, and ate. Well, most of them, anyway. Sam and I still have the Sweetwater's box on our counter, and take it from me, these donuts are so special that they don't really do it for you two days after purchase. Fresh is better with a premium donut. Kate didn't exactly mention that these are some of the BEST donuts in the country, which is why we bought 33 of them over a 24 hour period. That or we're gluttons for donuts, which come to think of it, might just be. I, anyway, feel passionate about donuts, so that's my excuse. Donut madness. That's the ticket. Now, to think I have another 2 years before those donuts again come into my life, well, it's just sad.
But, like Kate said, we had a lot of fun. Ate some chicken, drank a blue cocktail that seems to have kept her awake half the night (while I slept peacefully through the full body attack my sister said my mom mounted against the bed we were sharing), shopped for something we ultimately didn't end up finding and all in all, laughed like maniacs most of the weekend. My throat hurt like hell all night on Saturday after arriving at home, because of the laughing. I'm not sure there's a time in my life that I laugh so much as with my mom and my sister. So, you know, YAY Frankenmuth! We'll be back in 2 years!
(Oh, and the title for this post comes from a co-worker of my sister's, who described Frankenmuth such yesterday.)
