Well, everyone, you can rest easy, because Sam's finally figured out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. He wants to be an ice cream sommelier. Yes, he wants to open an "Ice Cream Bar" and serve exotic combinations of ice creams to the public. Sam thinks ice cream is like wine, and that people should eat it like they drink wine. I asked him if he would serve flights of ice cream, like they serve flights of wine in wine bars, and he said yes. I can imagine that--five shot glasses filled with different brands of vanilla ice cream, Sam standing behind a bar saying things like, "You can really detect the fake taste of this one, because of the use of vanilla extract vs. vanilla bean. And you should be able to taste the difference in Brand X, which uses Vanilla Bean from Madagascar." And can you imagine what he could do with chocolate ice creams? Yikes. The man is passionate about ice cream, that's for damn sure.
Completely unrelatedly, I'm addicted to the World Series of Pop Culture, on VH1. Maybe it's because I'm a total pop culture whore, but I really like the format of the show, and I even become attached to certain teams. I'm not sure if I'd do poorly or well on the show. Probably not good. I know a lot, but my knowledge is very limited time-wise. 80's questions would screw me over. My knowledge on such things isn't encyclopedic in general, but encyclopedic in specific. So I know everything there is to know about say, the Beatles, but in general, I'd probably do poorly on 60's music. It's not the kind of knowledge that's suited to something like the World Series. But it is a team event, so maybe that's good? I don't know, but if you're not watching it, and you like trivia, and specifically pop culture trivia, check it out. It's super-fun to play along at home by shouting out the answers before whoever is watching with you can. There's also an online game that you can play and win some money in, but judging from my practice last night, I won't be close to the top of the field. The format is very unforgiving of wrong answers. Still, I'll try, because I could use 2500 dollars. Who couldn't? And it's fun. And what if I get lucky?
Okay, I'm stopping now, because I can tell that I'm just typing because I'm hopped up on caffeine this morning, and I'm starting to make no sense in my own head, which means it's time to stop. Yeah, I'm a little manic right now. It's the caffeine.
I am seriously addicted to that show!
I would be fine w/the 80s categories or most movie categories, but the questions about current TV shows would get me. In the first episode of this season, there was that tie-breaker question about Lost - yeah, I knew one answer. Yikes.

Does Sam know about the ice cream parlor in Chicago that serves merlot ice cream? Bobtail, I think it's called. I've been on a big ice cream kick lately, so an ice cream bar sounds like one of the best ideas I've heard in a loooong time.
