5 favorite places I've been/vacations I've taken with Sam
1. Rome, 2002. Sam's first trip overseas, and simply one of the best times we've ever had together, going away. The relationship was still pretty damn new, and it somehow, it all worked. And Sam fell in love with Italy, which was a-ok with me.
2. Disney, 2005. I think it was 2005. I think that was the year we went twice. Anyway, the first trip wasn't nearly as fun, because it was spring break. And the second trip included my mom, sis and brother, and they all really love Disney too, which racheted up the enjoyment.
3. California, 2003. Oh God, this was an interesting trip. It's the first time I'd met many of Sam's friends, and his brother, so that right there kept things weird. And as much as I hated SoCal, I liked the central coast and San Francisco, and I ate a lot of really good fish. It ended up being a super-fun trip.
4. Cleveland, 2006. Yeah, I hated Cleveland. But I had so much fun at the Rock and Roll Hall with Sam, it merits a mention. And I mean, we've taken some other vacations, to much more exotic places. But that's how much I liked the Hall. Also, we drove, which made this a road trip, something we've hardly ever done. I liked it.
5. Italy, 2007. Yeah, this was a pretty awesome trip. Sam and I had a ton of fun, and we actually hardly fought at all (something we tend to do on vacations because I get so stressy). We ate a ton of good food, and we were able to enjoy Italy in a way we'd never before, because of the fact that my dad and his wife went. Totally different experience than in 2002, but still good, and sweet in a way, to know we'd been together long enough to make it back to Italy.
Like I said, we have taken some other vacations, but nothing as good as these five. I think we've got some more up our sleeve--nothing huge and fabulous like Italy, but small jaunts in the fall and spring. We like traveling, for some reason. I'm glad he likes it, I have to say, because if he didn't, I'm not sure our relationship could survive. So, phew.
