Ummm, I did something bad. I don't know if you've ever been to the East Coast, or had a friend from there, but if you have, then the minute I type the next two words, you'll at least understand why I did what I did. Tasty Kakes.
Yes, that's right, I ordered a whole big bunch of Tasty Kakes online, and if we like them very much, we're gonna order more. S has never had them. This is a man who loves snack cakes of all kinds, who can eat Hostess products and ask for more, and he's never had a Tasty Kake. I'm going to try to share my Butterscotch Krimpets with him, but I'm making no promises, because those Krimpets are the best in the world.
Once upon a time, I had a friend from Pennsylvania, and she used to get them sent to her by friends and family, and every once in a while, she'd share some. And then, like a strange mirage, Tasty Kakes appeared in the Midwest, and it seemed like just as soon, they were gone. I remember buying a few boxes of product back then, but I haven't had a Tasty Kake since. And you just don't forget Tasty Kakes, after eating them. There's nothing here that's remotely as good in the snack cake category.
And I don't know, maybe it's the diet, maybe it's the winter blues, but something in me just snapped on Monday and I went online and before I knew it I was spending money to have a bunch shipped here. It's not good for me, and it'll be even worse for the diet, but I think tomorrow might be Tasty Kake feast day here at the Efromano apartment. S has NO idea what's in store for him. I predict instant addiction. (Which is also why this is very bad. Tasty Kakes might be a very, very expensive habit.)
