OOOOOOH, boy, I'm hopping mad. When I went to the garage to start my car this afternoon (so I could drive S to a movie and run some errands that are ESSENTIAL), it didn't start. Not the worst thing ever at this moment, because S has a car and I was able to at least get him to the movie. But I do have to get my car started, because I have a JOB INTERVIEW on Thursday. And we, my friends, do not possess jumper cables, and even if we did, it would be no use, because I do not know how to jump a car. And like I said, S is safely ensconced in the warmness of a movie theater, watching a big monkey hop around the screen.
So I had to call roadside assistance (which is luckily covered by my limited warranty), which is fine, except that if there is something wrong with my car that isn't the battery, I have no money to spend on repairs and I also then have no car and possibly no loaner. Which means that S can't go to work, or I can't go to my interview. That is, of course, a worst-case scenario. But I'm still not happy about all this. You're never happy when your damn car doesn't start. And it's probably not the weather, because my car has lived in IL it's whole life, and has always started before. And! It's in a damn garage. What does it want, a sauna? This mamby-pamby cold weather misbehavior is making me mad.
It started small. First, the windows wouldn't roll down when it got too cold (a pain in the ass when you're a smoker, as I was until a couple of years ago). Then, the driver-side door began sticking ridiculously when it was cold. And of course, throw in some snow and my car throws fits and refuses to drive anywhere without fishtailing for a a few blocks. But this, this is too much.
It's a nice car, a luxury car. I wanted the car. I loved the car. And now, now I just want to wipe my hands of it. But that's not possible. I can't afford that. Good work, Germans! You suckered me into a lemon.
Update: Oh my car, she is well and truly dead. 25 minutes of attempted jump-starting did nothing. Hello, tow truck. (Tomorrow morning, alas.)
I have been having major cars problems myself....i am hoping my current car makes it through the summer and then I want to leave it behind while I move into the city...cars suck ass
