You know what? Empire Records is a terrible movie. Terrible. Absolutely fucking awful. But I love it. I can't help it. I think it's partly a nostalgia thing, because I remember watching it over and over again with my sister, who even bought the soundtrack (which is halfway decent, including a Cranberries rarity that I looooove), which I occassionally have to borrow. It's on HBO now, which is why I'm thinking about it, but we all have these 'guilty pleasure' movies, don't we?
I love the movie Party Girl with Parker Posey. It might be the most horrible movie ever made. It's worse even than Empire Records, if you can believe it. But the movie seems to get better every time I watch it. See, Parker throws parties and parties hard herself, falls for a fallafel man, and gets a job at a library. She then decides she wants to become a librarian and change her ways, something she discovers after she catalogs her DJ roommate's record collection. Lame, right? But I love Posey, and I have this little affection for the movie that lives on to this day.
Here's one more: Drop Dead Gorgeous. I know it's no Oscar-winner, but it makes me laugh. It's actually a fairly accomplished, famous cast, though I'm not sure how they possibly agreed to do the movie. It's fairly grim, actually. I'm not sure why I like it, but I always have.
So come on, 'fess up. Everyone has at least one beloved terrible movie, and I want to know what yours is.
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

There are tons of crap movies I love, but the one that is probably the biggest guilty pleasure is Girls
Just Want to Have Fun. Sarah Jessica Parker, horrible 80's fashion, and dancing. It doesn't get guiltier than that.

You know, I've never seen Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, but now I may have to, just to see.
And man, I totally agree about Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Terrible movie, but I love watching it.

Sleeping with the Enemy... it's so predictable and somewhat badly acted, but I love it!
