1. So what do you think of Howard Dean being the next head of the Democratic National Convention? Will he keep the party left, or move the party even further central?
I'm torn. I actually really liked Dean at the beginning. I like how left he leans; I also don't think he leans as left as everyone thinks he does. I also think that what he did at the beginning of the primary season was so important. He energized a lot of people, and made a lot of money. I hope he can help guide Democrats to a place of power. Unlike the monkey show they're doing now.
2. Why don't we hear more about the religious left (idea totally stolen from Charlie’s blog)? And why doesn’t the DNC court them instead of doing things like making an anti-choice advocate the new minority leader in the Senate in order to appeal to the new “morality voters”?
I think religious left is an oxymoron. Sort of. I think that there are plenty of very religious, spiritual left-wingers. But I don't think that they would ever label themselves the "religious left" because that goes against everything they believe in.
3. Is “reality” television losing steam?
Yes. Only not the fashion reality TV.
4. Do you think Hillary Clinton has a shot in 2008?
I don't, no. And I hope the Democrats don't try to run her. Really, really hope. Too many people hate her. Too virulently.
5. Who is the hottest man over forty on TV right now (I vote Treat Williams on Everwood or David Caruso on CSI Miami)?
Uh, I'm not sure I know ages. If Steve on Monster House is over 40, I vote for him. Oooooooh, how about Chris Noth, is he over 40? Because he's hotter than hell.
6. What takes better photographs, film or digital?
Normally, I would have said film. But S's digital monster takes amazing photos. Although his elderly Nikon will always win, over any camera. That's a magic machine, that one.
7. Didn’t chemo-bald Melissa Etheridge mop the fucking floor with Joss Stone singing “Piece Of My Heart” by Janis Joplin at the Grammys?
Uh, yeah. Melissa ripped it up. She sounded sooooo good. S and I were impressed.
8. If you watch the HBO show Carnivale, what the FUCK is going on?
Don't watch it. Probably wouldn't like it if I did. I heard it's Lynch-esque, and that's not okay with me.
9. What’s your favorite bad movie of all time (mine is Roadhouse)?
Party Girl. With Parker Posey. Party Girl becomes a Librarian. How much do I love that?
10. What made you start your blog? If you don’t have one, why the hell not?
It seemed like a good outlet. Also, I'd never been successful with a journal. So I thought this might end up being sort of journal for me. Now, it's become way more, figuring it's way into my career plans, on the web design edge. Coincidentally, my sister started one very soon before I started mine, though the two events were completely independent of each other. And now we've started pulling friends into the blog game, as well as our father. It's pretty odd, but ultimately fulfilling.
