S and I are sitting in front of our TV right now, partaking in the best comedy show on televsion right now. That's right, American Idol. I didn't watch the first or second season, and pretty much stopped the third when the losers were gone. But in the process of tuning in to Fox for '24', S's favorite show, we happened upon American Idol's losers last year. Can I say we were hooked without making a fool of myself? Oh, who cares. We gleefully laugh when people sing horribly. We could care less about the comments Simon makes, and frankly, Paula Abdul is a zero. But man oh man, there is just happiness and laughs in a night of Idol. I may not care who wins, but I'm telling you, we're already laughing. Less than a minute in, and it's brilliant. Unfortunately for comedy writers, you can't make this shit up.
Put a person with a deranged sense of fashion, who thinks they have a good voice, and doesn't, on a stage, and film them, and you'll be guaranteed some laughs. It simply cannot be helped. It is what it is. Oh my god, I'm laughing hard already. An hour of this is almost too much.
