I've been doing laundry and homework all day, camped out on the couch reading and answering questions. This is not a fun way to spend the afternoon. Nevertheless, it needs to be done and I'm the only one here, so it's gotta be me.
About 30 minutes ago, the dryer stopped, so I took out all the clothes and went to the bedroom to fold. I heard some rustling going on outside my open sliding doors, and thought it might be the wind catching the half-empty plastic garbage bag that was waiting to be taken down to the dumpster. Except when I stood at my screen door and looked at the bag (which was white) I realized there was actually a something inside it. It was a chipmunk, actually. It was soooo frantic to get out, and I felt so bad for it. So I tried to move the bag so that the chipmunk could find the opening, but that just made it more scared. I decided to cut a whole in the bag near where the chipmunk was, so I ran in and got the scissors. By the time I got back, the chipmunk had apparently chewed itself out, but I decided to take the garbage out.
When I got back into the apartment, I felt so bad I wanted to make amends to the chipmunk. I found some sunflower seeds in my pantry, and put some out on a ceramic dish I had for one of my flowerpots. No chipmunk nibbling yet, but hopefully......
